Heart Myth or Fact #29: Hear failure means the heart stops beating


If your heart suddenly stops beating it means you are in cardiac arrest. In the case of heart failure, the heart is still beating but it is not pumping blood as well as it should.

Heart failure can lead to shortness of breath, swelling in the feet & ankles, and persistent coughing or wheezing.
