Heart Myth or Fact #2: If I had high blood pressure or cholesterol, I’d know it

MYTH – The only way to know if you have high blood pressure (hypertension) or high cholesterol is to get a test.

There are usually no associated symptoms, which is known as “silent risk factors”. Hypertension is a silent killer and many victims are unaware they have it.

High cholesterol is the same. People who are in good shape can still have high cholesterol.
