In fact, smokeless tobacco products can increase the risk of certain cancers, fatal heart attacks and fatal strokes.
No tobacco product is safe to consume. Smokeless tobacco products are harmful and addictive , and that does not translate to a better alternative.
Smokeless tobacco products are taking advantage of the abundance of smoke-free air laws in the U.S. They claim that their products are a pleasurable substitute when smoking is prohibited. Just know that these products are not a safer substitute.
The most effective way to quit smoking is through nicotine replacement therapy (the nicotine patch or gum). So far, clinical studies have found no increased risk of stroke or heart attack through either method of nicotine replacement therapy.
