The leading cause of death in women is heart disease. In fact, according to the CDC, it accounts for 25% of deaths of females in the US.
Don’t take that the wrong way. We’re not trying to take away from the severity of breast cancer, but heart disease is currently at the forefront.
Heart surgeon Kathy Magliato of St. John’s in Santa Monica, CA says that heart risks can be boosted 20% in younger women if they smoke & take birth control pills. For that reason, women of all ages need to take their heart health seriously.
